Here’s the thing - if you’re purchasing wine at the grocery store, there’s a 98% chance that it comes from one of the ten largest wineries in the U.S. – even if the label on the bottle leads you to believe it’s a small, family winery.
These large, conglomerate wineries (AKA “The Big Guys”) churn out wine like a factory product, oftentimes using football-sized fermentation tanks and chemicals to mask subpar grape quality.
White label wines are often created by these large, commercial, bulk companies and sold to retailers – similar to other white label products out there on the market.

Sparkling Wine 101

Greetings and happy holidays! 🥂
The holiday season brings so many reasons to celebrate, and what’s better than a celebratory toast of sparkling wine with our loved ones? It’s super easy to find a sparkling wine your friends and family will all enjoy. But first, let's go over some of the basics of sparkling wine!

Extra Brut - very dry, very low amount of residual sugar, 0 - 6 g/LBrut - dry, a little more sugar, but not sweet at all, 0 - 12 g/LEx

Rocket's Red Field Report From Bill the Wine Guy

The town of Los Alamos lies in North Santa Barbara County along the Highway 101 that stretches along the coast of California. Once you exit US-101 onto CA-135 you have a choice: north to Vandenberg AFB or south into town along the old road that once was a stagecoach route. It is this point of decision in a way symbolizes the choices Jason “Zeek” Mergenov and his wife Carrie made some years ago as they exited a combined 28 years of active-duty service with the United States Air Force.
These days Los Alamos boasts a revitalized food and beverage scene, attracting world class culinary and winemaking talent. With its ease of access within Santa Barbara County and within an hour of San Luis

5 Tips for 1st Time Online Wine Buyers

While Vinebase makes it easier for you to shop directly from wineries, we also care deeply about it being easy to buy wine online.

Part of the fun of buying wine online is that you have to deal with alcohol deliveries. Specifically, being home to sign for your delivery and show that you are 21+.

We've ordered tons of wine online over the years, and wanted to share our top tips for making sure delivery is easy peasy!

1. Get your tracking codeAll wineries on Vinebase are required to share the tracking code from Fedex, UPS, or DHL when they ship your order. From here, you'll get a text and/or email with the tracking number and a page to see the status of your shipment.

Hello wine lovers, Rachel here.

I couldn't be more ecstatic about the progress we've made on our mission to bring more equality to wine over the past few months, and I really mean it when I say that we're just getting started.

Our team has given me the privilege to be the first to write on the official Vinebase blog, so I wanted to take a moment to share why we're doing all this in the first place.

Vinebase was born out of a concrete need for a better way for wine to work.

The current system of how most wine gets from the person who made it to the person drinking it is flawed. We'll surely be sharing more about this in the future, but thanks to Prohibition laws
