This wine is a very intentional blend of four grape varieties from two vineyards in Napa Valley. Expect delicious flavors of white peach, kafir lime, lychee and flint. Steve and Jill Klein Mathiason started Matthiasson wines in 2003 after working for many years in the sustainable agriculture and local food movement. For us, winemaking is a natural extension of farming. Our wines are classical expressions of different grape varieties, some well-known like Chardonnay and Cabernet Sauvignon, and some rare like Ribolla Gialla and Refosco (originaly grown in the Friuli region of Italy). The wines are refreshing, complement food, and are moderate in alcohol. ***Note: For summer months, Matthiasson will provide overnight shipping for $30 for all orders on Vinebase.***

"This is a traditional white Bordeaux blend you would find in #Napa with a twist in deference to Steve and Jill and their heritage to the #Friulu region of northern Italy. 50% Sauvignon Blanc 25% Ribolla Gialla 23% Semillon 2% Tocai Friulano (deep apologies for my horrible Italian!) Clear lemon color appearance. Medium [+] intensity aromas of crisp citrus notes of grapefruit and lemon peel, wet stone minerality and stone fruit nectarine with youthful characteristics. Dry and medium acidity on the palate with medium [+] intensity flavors of same with traces of graphite and blossom, full body, medium alcohol (12.5 ABV) and long finish. Very good wine which you might try to hold for a few years like a white Bordeaux but don’t. Enjoy this now and through 2022 with summer fare, seafood and risotto. Link to full IGTV review:"
