Petit Verdot, 2019

Produced by Final Girl Wines

In Night of the Living Dead, Barbara is a mousy, four-eyed pushover, but as the film progresses, she gets tougher by the minute. In the end she stands on her own, picking off zombies one by one. She needs no one else. Not unlike Barbara, this 2019 Petit Verdot with its fruit forward aromatics and smooth tannins is not to be underestimated. A full bodied, juicy wine with hints of dark fruits and cherry that stands on its own and makes an impression

"My fam opened this bottle while sitting around the fire pit on a chilly pre-spring night.  When it's 50* in Feb in Indy, you take advantage of it! It was absolutely perfect for the occasion - full bodied, delicious dried / stewed fruits (plum, cherry, blackberry jam), warm baking spices, and smooth tannins. JUST the thing to warm you up while relaxing around the fire on a perfectly cool evening. I think is the first 100% petit verdot I've had and 10/10 would buy again."

"Peter and Anna do a nice job with this wine and I was excited to try it. Medium ruby color with medium intensity aromas of red and dark fruits, white pepper, and allspice on the nose with developing characteristics. Dry with medium [-] on the palate with similar red and dark fruit flavors with medium [+] intensity and deeper notes of black pepper, tobacco and tea leaf. High alcohol (15.5 ABV) so definitely a wine for food or a nightcap under the stars. Very good wine, has potential for further aging. Full video review here:"
