"Clear garnet, with a little bit of brickiness. Dried rose petals, a little mintiness, bright red plum, satsuma plum, a little forest floor earth. On the palate, bright red fruit, cherry, nice acidity, balanced, great mid-palate, medium length. The finish is a little riper with red raspberry and yellow pomegranate. Astringency shows up which gives it a youthful glow. Doesn’t taste like a ‘13. It’s holding up well. " - Andy's tasting notes, 10/2020

Just awarded AVA status in 2020, the Comptche region of Mendocino is unique in that it only has 7 vineyards, and all planted to Pinot Noir. The Oppenlander vineyard is owned by 5th generation growers the Shandel family. It's about 8 miles to the coast, and the ocean breezes give the vines structure and complexity

This is the first vintage that Ali & Andy sourced from this famed vineyard. They are lucky enough to have purchased fruit from every vintage since up until 2020. This vineyard also has a special place in their heart, for that is where they found their cute little furry kitty, Baxter
