"Rock Smash" GSM Blend, 2018

Produced by Cruess

The name of this blend was coined by the youngest son of the Beckman family after the boulders heaped around June Mountain Vineyard. Equal parts Grenache, Syrah and Mourvedre, this wine has great intensity without being overly stemmy or green.

What's cool?

Interesting Winemaking Technique

Each varietal was fermented separately using native yeasts (50% whole-cluster) and racked and blended in the winter of 2019.

A Place In History

Cruess wanted to make the Rock Smash Red in 2017 but the Tubbs fire ripped through the area. Luckily, the vineyards were back on track by 2018 and they were able to harvest the perfect grapes for this wine.

Loved by 2 Tastemakers
Tristan | Que Sera, Syrah Tastemaker

"A wonderful GSM (Grenache, Syrah, Mourvèdre) blend that I loved but unfortunately I don't have much else to say. Once this 90s kid heard "Rock Smash" came from Pokémon after Anthony & Alissa's son saw the vineyard, I just sat back and enjoyed it. Like my nostalgia, this wine tasted timeless."
