The great noble grape of Bordeaux finds a home in the warm climate of Yorkville Highlands, south of the Anderson Valley. Often used to counteract Sauvignon Blanc’s acidity and add richness, the Semillon on its own is a force to be reckoned with. This wine can age for another 5-7 years easily.

The vineyards of Yorkville Celalrs were first certified by California Certified Organic Farmers (CCOF) in 1986; among the earliest in the state. So for over three decades no synthetic pesticides, herbicides and chemical fertilizers have been used. They also maintain California Certified Sustainable Vineyard status. Every day is Earth Day in Yorkville.
Well, this is more of a Nick fave. He's been obsessed with the varietal as a stand alone ever since he tried the Brokenwood ILR (Late-release) Semillon from Hunter Valley Australia. How could one wine display so much depth and complexity at ten years of age, while still retaining bright punchy acidity?!?! He had yet to sink into the wonders of Riesling yet, but like Riesling - and Chenin Blanc in this context - Semillon has the capacity to be dry, sweet, or even sparkling. The hand of the winemaker, as always, plays a great role in what Semillon can do. This particular offering displays
